WHAT DOES HEALTH AND WELLNES MEAN TO YOU?

This is not how I have looked always. I had a different story and weight loss was a challenge. Does my story sound anything like yours?

Losing weight should never be done alone but rather with someone who can guide you into loving yourself along the way.

I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) when I was 17. This meant that my body was developing insulin resistance which caused weight gain, fertility issues and a harder time just losing weight. It was a frustrating time in my life because which girl wants to find out that conceiving a child later on is going to be an issue. The continuous barrage of how women should look constantly took a toll on my mental health. With the passage of time, I got married and with both pregnancies I developed Gestational Diabetes attributed to my PCOS. After having my second child, I was at my heaviest. I hated how I looked so much so that I developed an aversion to mirrors. I felt alone.

I am smiling…but was I truly happy? This picture is when I was at my heaviest. It was a challenge to lose weight and NO DIETS WORKED. I had tried everything…WEIGHT WATCHERS, KETO, PALEO and everything was failing. I was failing….

It was not long ago that I was diagnosed as being PRE-DIABETIC. That is when I decided that I needed to change things in my life. I made changes in my diet and exercised…lost about 24 Lbs. I started to feel good BUT THEN my weight plateaued. I got stuck on the weighing scale… It was okay because losing 24 Lbs. in itself was a feat. Some habits were changed and I was mindful about my eating. And then a few months ago, I found something that resonated with what I believed in…DIETS DON’T WORK BUT HABIT CHANGES DO.
This system is a TRANSFORMATIONAL SYSTEM. This is the same me, more confident, happier and living a healthier lifestyle. IT WAS AN INVESTMENT THAT I MADE IN MYSELF. I had to…I did not want to become Diabetic or create more health issues within myself. I have started to create habits that have led to a change in how I view food and realized…DIETS DON’T WORK. So, keep reading on where I answer frequently asked questions of my plan!

This program is dependent upon how much weight you want to lose. It is imperative to remember, that you need fat-loss and not just water-loss from your body. Your body needs time to adjust to something new you create…so this program is dependent on a sustained weight loss.

The Golden rule of any diet is that your body needs to go into a calorie deficit. This is a journey to understanding how you view food and how your diet controls your health. Everyone is different and every body type will have a different requirement. You eat more on this program believe it not and push your body into metabolizing more often.

Yes. Remember, it is a transformational journey and an investment into yourself. YOU CANNOT EXPECT TO JUST COUNT POINTS ALL YOUR LIFE AND EXPECT TO LOSE WEIGHT. I did that…it is not sustainable in the long term. A family can spend anywhere between $250-$450/month on eating out; and some people can spend $167/month on just coffee! All I am asking is that you transfer just half those funds combined together on yourself and make that investment that will result in a healthier you.

This program is different. When you are trying to lose weight, you are put into a plan after I do a health assessment with you. You buy products and follow the plan and remove the unhealthy foods from your diet. Once you reach your goal weight, you will be put into a transition weight plan where you introduce foods slowly and steadily back into your life with an exercise plan put into place.

Finally, you will be put onto a maintenance phase where you will incorporate all food groups BUT THE HOPE IS THAT BY THAT TIME, YOU HAVE CREATED A HEALTHY HABIT SYSTEM WHERE YOU ARE MORE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOUR BODY AND WHAT IS NOT.

Remember, it is all about learning new habits in life and not just sticking with a diet.

As part of this program, this new plan will require you to let your doctor know that you are starting a new diet. If you take medications, it is recommended to get doctor clearance first. I take Thyroid medications and Metformin and I have not seen any adverse effects with any of these medications. IT IS IMPORTANT TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE YOU START ANY DIET.

Initially yes! Remember how I mentioned above that you need to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. Your body is going to get “managed’ calories while you are still on your way to reach your goal weight. Once you reach the transition stage of this plan, you can start to slowly incorporate exercise back in your routine.

Though not recommended, you are allowed to have Vodka with soda or seltzer. A glass of wine is allowed. But if you do decide to drink, then it is recommended to drink at least 3 glasses of water next day to compensate for that drink and to get it out of your system.

Yes! This is something that as your health coach we will talk about when you sign on with me to understand this a bit better.

It absolutely does!! My husband and I are on this journey together, and he has lost close to 19 Lbs. already on this plan.

You dust yourself and come back on plan. Remember, this is all about changing habits. We will all have days when we steer off-course and that is absolutely fine. As your coach, I will just nudge you back to course and follow up more the following week.

We will schedule calls the first 4 days when you start this program. Then we will schedule the calls weekly to make sure you are doing okay. You will be able to reach me via text messages and email 24 x 7.
