9 WAYS TO HELP YOUR MENTAL HEALTH DURING COVID-19

AVOID WATCHING THE NEWS ALL THE TIME:

This comes from personal experience and how it affected my mental health.

Watching the News channels with their grim outlook and the deaths that occurred due to Covid-19 made me feel anxious, stressed and depressed.

Then one day, my husband and I decided that it was not worth it to constantly expose ourselves to statistics and numbers and live in fear.

Make a decision to watch the news only once a day to get an update on what is happening around the world.

WATCH FUN THINGS ON TELEVISION:

When you watch something that makes you laugh, you replace the stress hormones with positive endorphins in your blood stream that help you feel less anxious and stressed. My suggestion: avoid watching things with dark endings or horror movies during the lock down period.

REDUCE CAFFEINE:

Reduce you caffeine intake during the lock down. It is known to make you jittery and anxious when had in larger amounts.
